Better Built Homes, Inc. is a corporation headed by John B. McCollum, a master home builder with 37 years experience in residential building. Vice President, Marshall Moss, an Industrial Engineer with 36 years engineering and managing experience joined the corporation to streamline the process. This is resulting in increased efficiencies and reduction in costs.

John started out in the home building business quickly after high school by getting trained and certified in AC installation. He worked with his uncle and father in the 70's learning all aspects of home building construction. John received his Electrical Licenses in the early 70's to add to his already vast amount of experience and credentials.

John and Marshall both reside in Gibson County and have lived near Dyer for the past 30+ years. We are proud to live and work in West Tennessee and to have our business here.

We are very supportive members of the Jackson Area Homebuilders Association and the National Homebuilders Association as we want to stay on top of all new government regulations that are sometimes being pushed onto the home building industry.

The building industry must be regulated, but sometimes new regulations that are considered to be passed may not be good for the home owner and will just increase our building cost. This area of regulation must be continually watched and monitored in order to keep building costs in line for the future.

Our Goal
The goal of Better Built Homes is to offer our clients top quality houses that are more energy efficient and that have the extra's that they are looking for when purchasing or building a new home and do this at a lower cost than other builders in the area.
